The present paper provides a review of 114 empirical studies on counseling intervention in relation to counseling outcome in Taiwan, conducted in the past 30 years. Counseling researches on children, adolescents, juvenile delinquents, college students, and adults are reviewed. It is found that a total of 20 counseling intervention strategies were used to make behavior changes. Tentative conclusions are drawn from the literature review. Comparisons are also made to detect different counseling outcomes among various counseling intervention strategies used with different age groups. Finally, a critigue is made to confront the weakness in conducting counseling researches.
