A Pilot Study of Cai Effects as a Remedial Teaching in English

 The purpose of this study is to investigate the CAI effect in Englishremedial teaching and students´ attitude toward CAI. The subjects were40 eighth grade female students.20 of them were randomly assigned toexperiment group, the others to control group. After traditional largegroup teaching, the students of experimental group were given one andhalf hours CAI teaching, while the students of the control group were not. Then, both groups were given an achievement test with the whole class.The experiment group also answer a questionnaire. ANOVA result indicatsthat two groups have no significant difference in the achievement test. However, the additional comparison between the low achievers of twogroups shows that the score of experimental group is significantly higherthan that of the control group. The students of experiment group havepositive attitude toward CAI.
